Well we are a "Crafty Family" from way back. Our love of animals has always been a part of who we are.
We have worked the craft shows as a part time enjoyment, have been menbers of 4H, and always had a soft spot for the kitty that showed up at our door or the puppy that was abandond in the parking lot of a grocery store.We have adopted Greyhounds, rescued Labs and fostered kittys galore and homed so many pets we lost count. As almost native Floridians we raised 8 horses on our ranch and there was always an animal under foot somewhere. We all work regular jobs but never lost sight of the craft show road. Craft Show people are so much fun and we have made many friends all over the country. We intend on getting back on the road soon to help other shelters and resuces set up their own fund raising efforts.
We raise and rescue Cavalier Spaniels, and still do our share of rescues and fosters from the local shelters. While volunteering at the shelters here in the Tampa area we found that there was a great need for so many things that a family pet takes for granted that the shelter budget could not afford like toys, beds, treats and the such. Caring for these animals during this time of transition became our mission.
Therefore our mission statement is…
“Heavens Pets aspires to raise awareness and provide a more gentle transition for shelter and rescue pets during their stay in their temporary home to their new forever home through, training, socializing, and necessary veterinary care. Also to provide the basic creature comforts like good food, warm beds, fun toys & willing petting hands through our volunteer and donation programs ”
We believes that every pet is a gift from heaven. Sometime pets and their families part ways for a variety of reasons but while in transition to their new home every pet deserves the best we can give them. They depend on us for everything.
We developed "Heavens Pets" to help with the needs of the shelter pet and to use our talents in a way that makes everyone feel good. We have a room devoted to the creation of the Heavens Pets line of accessories and every month we spend time at the shelters sharing what gifts we have been able to buy with the proceeds from our business. My daughter and I scourer the fabric stores to find just the right new fabric that no one else has while the guys uses their woodworking skills to design dog houses, feeding stations and the stuff that takes tools to create. We are in the process of designing a line of costumes and clothing for the very discriminating pet and am almost ready to roll out the "collar of the month" club that will showcase a very special pup or kitty every month that needs a forever home. Lastly we are working on a line of treats that will be as good for your pet as they are yummy to eat.
